Science 9 | Space Research and Exploration
EU9.4
Analyze human capabilities for exploring and understanding the universe, including technologies and programs that support such exploration.
As a means to meet the above Course Outcome, students will begin the following research activity:
Space Research and Exploration
Due: Tuesday, October 15, 2019

Science 10E | Graphing Motion
SCI10-FM3
Investigate and represent the motion of objects that undergo acceleration.
Indicator for this outcome:
(f) |
Construct and analyze graphs (i.e., distance-time, position-time, speed-time and velocity-time) that represent the motion of objects that undergo acceleration. (S)

E. Science 20 | Book Review
ES20-TE1
Analyze the importance of soils as an integral component of terrestrial ecosystems.
Indicators for this outcome:
(b) | Recognize how the breakdown of parent material through various processes (e.g., weathering, erosion, deposition and decomposition of organisms) results in soil with varying properties (e.g., colour, texture, structure and pH). |
(h) | Recognize the role and diversity of organisms (e.g., nitrogen fixing bacteria, fungi, mycorrhizae, insects, plants and protists) found within soil environments. |
Today, the class will read the book:
After you have read this story, write a review of the book. In your review, include a description of how a Nature Lover may be different from a person who understands nature.
Also, research and describe how small, seemingly insignificant organisms such as the earthworm are beneficial to soil environments. Discuss how earthworms and other small organisms aid in the deposition and decomposition of organic matter. Also, indicate other small or microscopic organisms that may be found in healthy soil.
Due: Tuesday, October 15, 2019
Science 10 | Acceleration
SCI10-FM3
Investigate and represent the motion of objects that undergo acceleration.
Students will analyze the data and perform calculations from the following lab experience:
