Science 9 | Challenges of Space Exploration

EU9.4
Analyze human capabilities for exploring and understanding the universe, including technologies and programs that support such exploration.
Students will gain knowledge toward meeting the above Course Outcome by watching a Hollywood Motion Picture related to the perils of space travel.

Science 9 Course Outcomes and Indicators

 Science 10E | Human Acceleration

SCI10-FM3
Investigate and represent the motion of objects that undergo acceleration.
Indicators for this Lab Experience
(a)
Develop and carry out experiments to determine the properties of accelerated motion, including identifying variables to be tested, developing appropriate sampling procedures for data collection, collecting and recording data and analyzing data to generate conclusions.
(b)
Evaluate the relevance, reliability and adequacy of data and data collection methods, including identifying and explaining sources of error and uncertainty in measurements.

For this lab experience, students will design and execute a procedure to determine the rate of acceleration of a human runner.

 E. Science 20 | Climate Change

ES20-HP1
Investigate technologies and processes used for mitigating and managing resource use, waste generation and pollution associated with a growing human population.
Students will gain insight toward meeting the above Course Outcome by watching the following documentary film and completing the accompanying reflection document.

Before the Flood

Before the Flood:  Reflection
Due:  Tuesday, October 8, 2019

 Science 10 | Acceleration

SCI10-FM3
Investigate and represent the motion of objects that undergo acceleration.
on Monday, students will write a quiz to meet the above Course Outcome.  Today, I will review the practice document introduced yesterday:
